		Have you ever experienced "flare ups" when cooking? This happens when grease builds up and comes into direct contact with the flames below. At DCS, our grates have an integrated runner which routes oils and grease from the food as it cooks. Should any grease fall between the grates, it hits the red hot "radiant rods" below and runs straight off. Because, unlike our competitors we made our rods round, not flat.

	Meat, fish and vegetables require different cooking surfaces. Fish and vegetables need more support when cooking so they don't flake or disintegrate – another fact that appears to have escaped the notice of our competitors. At DCS we build all of our grates with two sides: one side has a gentle radius for support and handling, and the other is cast in a trough shape for perfect sear lines.

		Radiant Rods:

	Look inside any traditional outdoor grill and you will see what appear to be coals sitting on top of the burners. These are in fact rocks, usually made from lava, which heat up when exposed to flame. DCS is the only manufacturer to use "heating radiants" which evenly distribute heat across the entire grill. These radiants are ceramic, which performs better at high temperatures. The rods glow red when heated, emitting a powerful "radiant" heat which has been proven to cook faster and more effectively than traditional "convected" heat. That means more impressive dinners in a shorter time.
